FREE Concussion Seminar
This FREE seminar, open to the public, was held at Pentagon MMA on September 10, 2012. It focused on athletes and helping them understand the definition of a concussion, signs and symptoms of concussions, who to report the concussion to, and strategies to self-manage symptoms immediately after injury. Attendees were also provided with information about healthcare providers to contact if concussion symptoms are persistent beyond the first week following injury.
This seminar was presented by Nicholas Branch, DPT, who has been practicing in Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation since 2008. He received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005 and his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University in 2008. In 2009, Nicholas received specialization in the treatment of individuals with brain injury. Nicholas is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Neurology Section (Vestibular Special Interest Group) and the Vestibular Disorders Association. Nicholas is passionate about treating various forms of brain injury and strives to provide innovative ways to treat concussion and post-concussion syndrome.
We learned so much thanks to Nicholas Branch! Coming up soon, a back injury seminar!
