Since we’ve opened, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives of people one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. Kru Vivek has been training and competing in the art of Muay Thai (also known as Thai Boxing or Kickboxing) since 2004. Prior to training in Thai Boxing, he trained and competed in San Shou since the age of eight. Kru Vivek has been teaching Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts, and Gymnastics to both adults and children of all ages since 2006 and is passionate about sharing his love for the martial arts with individuals from all levels and all walks of life. He also enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is currently a Purple Belt.
Kru Vivek is also passionate about giving back to the community that has supported Pentagon MMA in so many incredible ways. From fundraising for local non-profits to working with schools and children to build the leaders of tomorrow. In 2016, Kru Vivek was a recipient of Washington Region’s 40 under 40 Rising Business and Community Leaders Award.

VP & General Counsel, Co-Founder
Together with Kru Vivek, Diana founded Pentagon MMA in 2012. Diana has been training in Muay Thai under Vivek Nakarmi since 2008, when she moved to the DC metro area. Diana has a JD from the University of Michigan School of Law, an M.B.A. from Florida International University, and a B.S. in Marketing from Florida State University. Before joining the Pentagon MMA family, she was an employment litigator at an international law firm in DC for almost five years. Diana now serves as Pentagon MMA’s in-house counsel and office manager, making sure that everything runs smoothly. Kru Vivek and Diana have two beautiful boys and are also parents to Rocky, a very large German Shepherd pup who loves hanging around Pentagon MMA.

General Manager
Kru Nikko Agustin started his journey in the late 90’s having trained under Master Kumron Vaitayanon aka “Master K.” He later came to Pentagon MMA in 2012 as a parent whose child was one of the first Warrior Kids under Kru Vivek Nakarmi’s Warrior Kids Program. By 2013, Nikko came in as a student, working his way up to an Assistant Instructor. While growing as a student, he also grew as a Chief Instructor to the Warrior Kids Program and taught adult Muay Thai. He has now stepped into the role of General Manager. His goal is to empower students through his extensive experience both in training and competing, aiming to make a positive impact on their growth and development.

Program Manager and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor
Coach Sa’idah Zeinab Durkee (also known as “Ginja Ninja”) is a Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Isaac July Jr. and Lloyd Irvin Jr.. She is an active competitor, and is currently a 3X IBJJF Gi M. World Champion, 3X IBJJF Gi Pan Ams Champion, IBJJF NoGi Pan Ams Champion, and IBJJF Adult World Gi and NoGi Medalist.
Coach Sa’idah grew up in New Mexico and Egypt. She was very active in sports, competing in Gymnastics, TaeKwonDo, Horseback Riding, Swimming, Soccer, and Snowboarding. Since then, along with Jiu Jitsu, she has trained in capoeira, boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. She is passionate about bringing people together and helping communities grow and thrive.
She also takes competing and training very seriously, competing in over 100 tournaments since receiving her blue belt. She has earned 60 Gold Medals, 28 Silver Medals, and 16 Bronze (As of 2024). Some highlights of her competition track record include beating a Black Belt in Gi two months after receiving her blue belt, as well as beating an IBJJF World Champion Black Belt in NoGi while also a Blue Belt. She has competed in, and won, numerous Submission Only Invitationals and SuperFights.
Coach Sa’idah is our Programs Director, Jiu Jitsu Gi and NoGi Instructor, BJJ Comp Team Co-Lead and Kids Coach.
Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor & Combat Conditioning Coach
Professor Isaac July, Jr. has been a lifelong athlete beginning with wrestling at the age of nine continuing through college at Howard University in Washington, DC and later coaching at Gonzaga College High School. He began his martial arts training at the age of fourteen with Tae Kwon Do, later moving to Jeet Kun Do and ultimately finding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2005. He received his black belt under Master Leo Dalla in 2014.
Professor Isaac is an avid competitor under Master Leo Dalla’s Big Brothers Competition Team with several large accolades to his name, including winning IBJJF World Championships in both Gi and No-Gi, Europeans Championships and multiple times Pan American Championships, as well as several Fight2Win and ToroCup Black Belt SuperFight Wins.
Isaac is a National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) certified personal trainer and nutritional consultant, level II kettlebell coach (IFKK) and holds a (SMaC) specialist in martial arts conditioning. He also has experience working with SWAT and HRT teams on close quarters combat training and Women’s Self Defense training.
Muay Thai Instructor
Ajarn Jom Kitti is a highly decorated and seasoned Muay Thai fighter, with over 400 fights since beginning his career at the age of 7 in Nakhorn Si Thammarat, Thailand. A relentless competitor, Ajarn Jom has represented Thailand on the international stage, including at youth games in Malaysia.
Career Highlights:
As a highly respected trainer, Ajarn Jom has guided numerous fighters to success. He trained Craig Dickson, the now-retired Scottish champion who fought in Lumpinee and Rajadamnern, as well as Gina Carano, preparing her for Hollywood fight roles, in addition to training and preparing multiple world class fighters for national and international bouts and championships.
In recognition of his profound influence, one of Ajarn Jom’s students authored a book about him, titled “Ajarn: Learning from Kitti, Coping with Life in the Digital Age,” available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Ajarn Jom Kitti’s illustrious career is a testament to his passion, skill, dedication, and deep understanding of Muay Thai. With numerous championships under his belt, he continues to inspire and train the next generation of fighters. We are honored to be working with him here at Pentagon MMA!
After School and Camp Program Director
Miss Lo was born in the Philippines and moved to New Hampshire when she was 8 years old. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies at Arizona State University. She is currently in the process of acquiring her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Southern California on her journey to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker focusing on the therapeutic side. Miss Lo has previous after school and camp experience from working as a Child and Youth Program Assistant Lead at Joint Base Andrews, working closely with youth ages 5-12 years old. In the little bit of free time she has, she enjoys reading and working out.

Miss Sujina hails from the Land of Mount Everest, Nepal. She has an Associates Degree in Business from Jana Maitri College in Nepal. She loves working with children and teaching them Nepali words. In her free time, she loves watching movies and traveling.
Membership & Community Engagement Coordinator
Tatiana has an M.P.A. with a focus in Nonprofit Management from the University of Delaware and a B.S. in Community Health with a minor in Theater from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her previous experience includes working for an Indigenous-led law and advocacy nonprofit in D.C.; a community center and a data-driven nonprofit in Newark, DE; and a nonprofit that makes specially formatted audiobooks for the blind and visually impaired in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Tatiana is our Membership and Community Engagement Coordinator and, given past experience practicing Hapkido and Karate, she is looking forward to practicing Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu with the team and connecting with the students.
Muay Thai Instructor
Katrina Combs is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who works with children with autism. She began training in Muay Thai 11 years ago at Leo Dalla Martial Arts as a means to get in shape. She developed a love for the art and culture of Muay Thai and stepped in the competition ring. In 2015, she brought home a Gold in K1 and Silver in Muay Thai from the WKA World Tournament. She eventually found a new Muay Thai home at Pentagon MMA.
When she joined the Pentagon MMA family, her record was 5-5 as an amateur. That quickly changed as she went 4-0 in her next four amateur bouts, then secured a win in her first pro fight in October 2018. Two surgeries and a worldwide pandemic later, she is back in competition mode. She looks forward to being active in professional Muay Thai competitions and helping the Pentagon MMA coaching staff change the lives of others through Muay Thai, martial arts, and the family spirited culture at Pentagon MMA.

Coach Teddy Endale is a professional Martial Arts instructor and certified personal trainer as well as the owner and founder of Teddy’s Fitness Boxing (TFB). He has trained in various styles of martial arts including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav-Maga, American Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Western Boxing. Coach Teddy started training in Martial arts at the age of 20. He got into martial arts so he can learn how to defend himself and get in better shape. He immediately fell in love with it and has been hooked ever since. Coach Teddy has been training and coaching people for more than 15 years. He received his black belt in Karate & Kickboxing at the American Karate Institute before starting his own personal training business at the Ethiopian Community Center in Arlington VA. Coach Teddy attended Northern Virginia Community College and studied both small business management and health & fitness.

Curtis is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt under Isaac July Jr. Curtis thought boxing was his calling seven years ago until he met Professor Isaac and has since cemented a passion for Jiu Jitsu and grappling in all forms. Curtis brings high energy to the mats and loves to see his teammates find success with their Jiu Jitsu.
Curtis is from New Jersey by way of Ohio. When not on the mats, Curtis is probably DJ’ing, cooking, biking, watching anime, or hanging out with Kevin. Curtis speaks Spanish at the working level.
Coach
Kevin is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt under Isaac July Jr. He started his martial arts journey with Tang Soo Do karate at 3 years old and eventually received the rank of second degree Black Belt. He later added wrestling, boxing, and muay thai to his repertoire before eventually starting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Kevin was born in the DMV area, but has since lived in Jakarta Indonesia, North Carolina, and Atlanta before returning to the DMV.
Youth Programs Counselor
Zander is a college student at Northern Virginia Community College, currently studying computer science. His choice of music is rock and rap, and he loves playing video games, drawing, painting, cars, and Muay Thai. Zander has been training in Mixed Martial Arts for 9 years and Muay Thai for 4 years, all at Pentagon MMA. He is our home grown rockstar!
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor
Evan is a dedicated martial artist with over 7 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). His passion for martial arts has been a lifelong journey, having explored various disciplines. Beyond his martial arts prowess, Evan has a surprising twist in his story – he was an avid soccer player in his youth and continues to watch the sport religiously every weekend. Evan’s unique combination of skills and interests make him a well-rounded martial artist and a true sports enthusiast.
Warrior Kids Instructor
Coach Becca is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, IBJJF No-Gi Pan American Championship medalist, and a certified Level Two Yoga for BJJ instructor. Eight years of Krav Maga experience sparked her love of martial arts, followed by four years of training in Inosanto Kali. She has been passionately focused on BJJ since 2019, and loves to approach BJJ in an inclusive, playful, and competitive mindset.
Muay Thai Instructor
Coach Paige started her Muay Thai journey at Pentagon MMA in 2021 as a birthday gift to herself and fell in love with the challenge. She recently started training BJJ as well and credits the supportive PMMA community for her growth.
She believes you shouldn’t be too serious, and she can be spotted walking into and out of the gym rocking her Shrocs (Shrek crocs). When she’s not at the gym or at her day job, Paige loves saying hi to the neighborhood dogs, doting on her cats, and hanging out with friends.
Warrior Kids Assistant Instructor
Coach Carl has been training in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since joining Pentagon MMA in 2021, and has training in other martial arts since he was 11 years old. He helps coach the Warrior Kids, teens, and Black Belt Club classes, sharing his passion for martial arts with his family, who all train together at Pentagon MMA. Initially featured in Pentagon MMA’s workout videos, Carl transitioned into filming and producing content. Now on the path to becoming an instructor, Carl is dedicated to learning, coaching, and growing in the art of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
