Updated COVID-19 Notification and Quarantine Protocols
Updated January 12, 2022
Given the sudden surge in COVID cases, we wanted to take a minute to let you know of our notification procedures moving forward. When we are notified of a COVID positive case among our students, we will notify (via email) students who were in a class with that individual within the 7-day period prior to the notification date, based upon our attendance records. Close contacts (as defined by the CDC) will be notified via text and called as soon as possible.
In addition to notification, effective immediately our instructors have been notified to make sure that students stay with the same partner throughout the class, rather than switching pairs as usual. This will help us quickly identify and notify close contacts (as defined by the CDC) of a COVID positive case. We have also temporarily suspended all open mat sessions until further notice.
At this time, we are recommending, but not requiring, the use of face coverings for all students regardless of vaccination status. Masks are still required at all times for unvaccinated individuals.
With respect to COVID-19 quarantine/isolation protocols, we have adopted the latest CDC and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Guidelines as set forth in the pdf link below. Please note both charts below have been obtained from the VDH website.
Updated COVID Guidance Jan 2022
We will continue to monitor CDC and state health department guidelines and will keep you updated of any changes in our procedures. Please let us know if you have any questions, and please stay safe.
