Pentagon MMA Wins 2021 Best of Arlington Award
The people’s choice is in: Arlington Magazine readers selected Pentagon MMA for the “Best Martial Arts Instruction” award! Founded by Kru Vivek Nakarmi, a professional martial artist, and his wife, Diana Nakarmi, Pentagon MMA opened in 2012.
For almost two decades, they have focused on serving their community both inside and outside the dojo. More than five hundred students call this place home, with a slew of programs ranging from Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the best kids’ MMA, camps, and ladies-only Kickboxing. They credit their success to the strong relationships they have built with members over the years and make sure to share their fortunes with others, choosing to work with the Arlington Free Clinic and helping school supply drives.
Their ability to adapt has allowed them to keep their class offering open, albeit with modifications to comply with Covid-19 guidelines, and they now include some of the best virtual martial arts classes too. Not going unnoticed, Pentagon MMA also received top votes from readers for its kids’ virtual camp. This full-day program is for Arlington Public School children learning virtually and is designed to teach them mixed martial arts and the mental training that goes alongside it to develop their character and offer an outlet for physical activity.
These are not the first awards received by Pentagon MMA. Previous accolades include “Best for Families,” “Arlington Best Business” and “Best Martial Arts Instructors” received from a host of various publications. Their motto, “Train. Fight. Win. Repeat.” is a formula that echoes their achievements. Clearly persevering through difficulty, a winning attitude and commitment to service pays off.
