Pentagon MMA has a range of different programs unlike many other gyms. It is wonderful for those who want to get fit and it's serious enough for those who want to fight. They have an amazing kids program as well

Amazing place. The staff is beyond friendly and create a truly welcoming environment. At no point do you feel like an outsider. The training is top notch. Master Chon is a true professional and makes sure you're learning step by step. Walking into Pentagon MMA has been one of the best decisions of my life.

Pentagon MMA is an excellent place to train! Vivek is an outstanding Muay Thai coach and their BJJ instructor, Sugi, is not only a BJJ Black belt but also a 2x Olympic Judoka. They are both friendly, welcoming, and great at what they do! If you are looking to start training in the Arlington area, this is definitely the place to go!

I have seen, from far away, how Pentagon MMA has grown from its beginnings to what it has become today. Vivek, the owner, introduced me to Muay Thai a few years ago and ever since I can’t seem to stop. Vivek showed me the basics to this beautiful art, back then he would tell me about his dream of opening a gym where he could share his knowledge with everyone else. After a few years, I finally went to visit his accomplished dream, his own gym, I was truly impressed. Pentagon MMA is a true Muay Thai school, where people are learning how to perfect their moves. I haven’t yet seen anyone who is there to show off or to put anyone down, everyone is focused and is there to learn. Thank you Vivek for Muay Thai is now part of my life. Thank you Kru Chon for never letting me quit!

I couldn't ask for a better place to train and call my second home! Pentagon MMA has hands down the best instructors. Master Chon and Master Vivek run an awesome Muay Thai program that keeps you fit and always learning more techniques. The gym has a "family vibe" atmosphere and everyone in the community is supportive of your fitness goals. I've already lost 20lbs thanks to PMMA's fight team, training, and encouragement. If you're looking to train with the best, you should definitely check out this gym.

I highly recommend Pentagon MMA. I've been taking the women's kickboxing classes since November. Staff members are warm, welcoming, and immediately made me feel comfortable. I love the instructors (Belinda and Patti are particularly fantastic) and the challenging and supportive environment. If you're on the fence, try a free class or two. I think you'll love it.

Easy and Vital Tips to Stay Safe on Halloween

Ghosts, Goblins and Witches, oh my! The Halloween season brings a lot of fun memories for people. They can find their favorite characters or alter egos and dress up as other personas for a night. Taking children around the neighborhoods for candy at night has become the American staple for Halloween traditions. There are also social gatherings such as Halloween themed parties or dances that many people like to attend. But, as with any party or social event, there is always a slight risk of danger that everyone should be aware of. These are some tips on how to stay safe on Halloween and still have a great time:

Travel in Pairs

When people see a group of friends attached at the hip, they can be sure that they will stay that way for the entire evening. It is important to stay with a group or another person because they have someone looking out for their well-being at all times.

Stay Aware of Surroundings

Looking around and identifying suspicious individuals or objects can mean the difference between a good and bad situation. When you can observe all the nearby surroundings, you are able to anticipate and/or avoid situations that can occur. For instance, paying attention to suspicious vehicles parked down the street in the neighborhood can prompt someone to call the police immediately. Or, eyeballing a nearby exit in a crowded house party can alleviate the need to find one upon leaving later.

Have Emergency Numbers on Speed Dial

Another way to stay safe on Halloween is to keep emergency numbers on speed dial. This prevents one from needing to dial numbers in any frantic situation. It is also a good idea to hold onto phones as you are walking to your cars. Doing so will give quick access to a call or text if anything were to occur at that moment.

Stay in Well-Lit Areas

With Halloween, most events will likely happen in the evening. Trick-or-treating with the kids or hanging out at a party will definitely be during the evening hours where it is dark and riskier. Parking vehicles under bright lights or staying in well-lit neighborhoods will help to reduce the chance for a dangerous circumstance.

Keep a Weapon

It does not necessarily have to be a gun or a bat, but having some type of weapon can make you feel more empowered and ready for any situation. This could look like a mace spray or your own fists. To feel more comfortable using these things, you should enlist in some free or low-cost self-defense classes that will give you the tools to defend yourself in vulnerable situations.

The spirit of Halloween can be fun and celebratory in many different ways. Mothers get a chance to help their kids dress up and stroll neighborhoods in their adorable costumes. Friends attend parties to socialize with their friends. As much fun as these types of things can be, unfortunately, the dangers involved with these events will increase as well. It is important that we all follow some of these easy tips to ensure a fun and safe Halloween.
